Production History and Development- Tim Crouch develops his work in collaboration with the artists Karl James and a smith. Their role, as Crouch puts it, is to ask as many questions as possible about the whats, whys, and hows of the piece. In development a smith played the father, but never in front of an audience. In rehearsal and previews, Ian Golding and Cath Dyson did so as did Hannah Ringham, who would later on be the second actor in Crouch’s 2007 piece ENGLAND.
